Therapy for Problematic Behaviors
Therapy for Problematic Behaviors
Maybe there’s something you keep doing even though part of you really wants to stop.
Problematic behaviors can take many forms, including eating disorders, codependency, pornography use that feels difficult to control, sports betting or gambling, dysfunctional or unsafe sexual behaviors, affairs, problematic drinking or smoking habits, dysfunctional wellness and workout routines, doom-scrolling habits, and other patterns that have begun interfering with your relationships, well-being, or the life you want to live.
Instead of approaching these behaviors with more shame or judgment, therapy helps us get curious about them. What purpose has this behavior served? What happens right before the urge? What emotions or experiences might you be trying to avoid, soothe, or escape?
Together, we’ll work toward understanding the why underneath the behavior, developing healthier ways to meet those needs, and helping you feel more in control of the choices you make.
Lasting change often starts with understanding yourself, not shaming yourself.
